Friendsgiving: North Creek, New York.
This weekend was the ultimate recharge. I had the pleasure of heading to my friends cabin in North Creek, New York for a friendsgiving and everything was perfect. The company, the food, the comfy cabin (which was warmed by a wood-burning stove), AND THE STARS. I was born and raised in NYC so the only lights that I catch at night are the planes flying out of and into Laguardia or JFK airport. THEY WERE REAL STARS, i mean it was simply magical. Anyways, moving on... I almost forgot to mention that there was no WIFI or service at the cabin, so I was forced to put my instagram obsession aside and be fully present. At first it was hard, but eventually it became habitual to just leave my phone behind. Don't get me wrong, the moment I got service back on Sunday, I went back to my old ways of having my phone glued to my palm BUT those 35-40 hours without the internet actually felt nice. Like I mentioned before, I had great company with me, amazing food, and lots of beer (I need to detox until a stuff my face again on actual thanksgiving) so it was all good. It was a 10/10 weekend and if you can, I recommend all of you to just escape one weekend, especially you city folks! Hey, maybe next time i'll leave my phone at home.
